Preventive Treatments (Fissure Sealants)

Tiny cracks (fissures) appear in back teeth as they grow. Food particles often become lodged and these fissures are difficult to clean out completey. As a result the fissure is prone to developing a cavity. This occurs most often in children and young teenagers.

In order to prevent a cavity from forming, Our dentists place a fissure sealant on the tooth. Fissure sealant is applied in droplet form. The sealant is hardened using a bright light protecting against tooth decay.
