I originally hail from the town of Bailieborough in Co. Cavan.
I graduated as a dentist (joint first in my year) from Trinity College, Dublin in 1996. I moved to London where I worked in general dental practice. While there I gained valuable experience in all aspects of general dentistry. I returned to Dublin in late 1998. My wife, Rachel, and I practiced together in our dental clinic in Terenure until late 2007. While in Terenure we enjoyed the challenges of maintaining a busy family-orientated dental practice.
Rachel and I opened The Mall dental clinic in May 2004, so over the course of the next 3.5 years I was an almost weekly visitor to this beautiful county. Having been lured by the charms of Rachel’s native place (and having had enough of all that commuting!) I moved to Donegal in Christmas of 2007.
In March 2012 we relocated from The Mall in Ramelton and merged with Errigal Dental in Letterkenny where we are now situated. Here we joined forces with my friend and colleague Dr Nicholas McCann. It is our hope that together we can create the best dental experience in the north-west of the country for our existing patients & those we are yet to meet.
Since qualifying as a dentist, I have maintained a passion for expanding my knowledge in all aspects of dentistry. This is even more vitally important in order to effectively run a busy general practice such as Errigal Dental. I have, therefore, undertaken numerous postgraduate courses not only in Ireland and the U.K. but also in mainland Europe. I have a particular interest in all aspects of cosmetic dentistry including ceramic crowns, veneers and implants and, of course, teeth whitening.
I live in Letterkenny with Rachel and our two children. I have a keen interest in many sports, both as a participant and fan. I am a keen (but very ordinary) golfer, a decent skier and I enjoy water sports and jogging.
I look forward to meeting you in person.
