Before Your Appointment:
We recommend that you do not take any aspirin or anti-inflammatory medications for three days before your appointment. If you are taking any anticoagulant (blood thinning) medication, or dermal filler treatment is not recommended. You will be asked for a list of all your regular medication as well as disclosure of any medical conditions. Perform a self appraisal of your face and decide which wrinkles and creases concern you most. The wrinkles may be static (there all the time) or dynamic (when you engage your face muscles by smiling, frowning etc.) On the day of your appointment, do not apply base make-up or creams to your face. Wash your face with a medicated, antiseptic face wash.
On arrival, you will be asked to read and sign an Informed Consent Form and provide your details. The consent form contains important information about anti-wrinkle injections. We will take a brief, general medical history and then discuss realistic treatment options for you based on your expectations. These may include anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers or both. In most cases, we will mark injection sites with a number and take one or more digital photographs to store with your confidential record. This information is valuable for future visits when the effect of the previous anti-wrinkle injections can be accurately analysed and the injection sites adjusted if necessary. The cost of the proposed treatment will be discussed and amendments made, should you so wish.
The appropriate dosage and dilution of anti-wrinkle injections or dermal filler will be prepared in a small syringe with a tiny needle. The skin will be swabbed with alcohol and the series of injections administered. A stinging sensation and sometimes a little bleeding is to be expected but this is transient. It takes a few days to notice the effect of anti-wrinkle injections.
You will be given post-treatment advice that mostly relates to the first four hours after your injections.
You will be required to pay in full for your appointment by card or cash before leaving.
You will be offered the opportunity to book a follow-up appointment in three to four months for anti-wrinkle injections
